August Shop Updates and Future Plans that I’m Excited About

For the month of August, I am so excited to release some new things to my shop, as well as talk to you guys about my new art posting schedule (since as you may have noticed, I sadly haven’t been able to keep up with my once a month release schedule during the school year).

August Updates

Sticker Discount Codes

To kick off the month of August I am going to be releasing 2 sticker discount codes! So if you were vying for the sticker giveaway, but didn’t win, these codes are for you! One code will be for individual sticker purchases. This is for you if you are especially interested in one particular sticker of mine. The other discount code will be for a sticker bundle, so if you are interested in purchasing all 3 stickers this is for you!

More details about the sticker discount codes will be posted to my Instagram in the coming weeks! But for now, all you need to know is that these discount codes will be available for use between August 1st – August 21st, 2022! So if you want to be the first to know when they are officially live, follow my Instagram!

New Digital Products

My next update for the month of August is a new type of product that I have never had on my website before … digital wallpapers and screensavers for your computer! There will be 3 bundles released at the beginning of August (so mark your calendar!). All of the bundles will include 2 downloadable screensavers/wallpapers in the size 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Two of the bundles will include wallpapers with August, 2022 calendars so these will be available for the month of August only! You can check out a preview of them below, make sure you mark your calendar for their release! I am hoping to make more of these each month, so let me know if there is any art that you want to see as a wallpaper or screensaver for your computer!

Portrait Commission

I recently completed a portrait commission for a friend in one of my favorite styles to paint: monochromatic! This project took me a long time, and I am glad I took my time on it because I wanted to get the proportions and colors just right! It was a really exciting process for me and I loved seeing the painting come to life and grow as I continued to add to it! I am so excited to see it in its new home soon! Thank you to my wonderful friend for challenging me with this commission and trusting me to work on something so special for her home! New Album Cover Coming Soon

If you follow Spates on Instagram (check him out here!) you already heard about his new album that is coming out this year (The Next Chapter, aka TNC). His new album is currently in the works, which means I am currently working on the album cover as well!

We have just been brainstorming so far and have some pretty cool ideas in the works! But I will be starting the process of creating color palettes and sketches, as well as getting to the painting process soon! If you are curious about his music and haven’t heard it yet, check out the link here! I will be sharing details from the process as soon as I have the footage, and may show some sneak peeks along the way so stay tuned for that! 2023 Calendar Project

The next project I will be working on to round out the year is a 2023 calendar! This is something that I tested out and made a year ago, but only made a digital version with portrait paintings! For the upcoming year, I am hoping to create a limited edition printed version for you guys using my landscape art from the trips I have taken over the past couple years! I am really excited about this project because I will be using my own photos as references and because I feel like my landscape painting has come a long way since I first started this website!

I am still ironing out the details of what this calendar will look like (i.e. how big it will be, how many copies I will print, etc.) and which paintings will make the cut to be part of the calendar! I also haven’t decided if I am going to release a digital version of this calendar for those of you who don’t like printed copies. So if that is something you are really interested in let me know!

If you have any ideas about which of my paintings you want to see in this calendar comment below! Check out some of my favorite landscapes that I have made recently below (from Maine and Hawaii)! There will be more details to come about this project in the coming months! Goals

YouTube – Longer Videos

No onto my goals, these are more long term projects that I want to work on through the end of 2022 and into 2023. One of my goals for this year is to transition to making some longer videos of my painting process. Most of my videos right now are short snippets of the process, which you can see on my Instagram (check out my reels here). I used to have some longer videos of my painting process on IGTV, but since that is no longer a big feature on Instagram and I know some of my followers are still interested in seeing the entire painting process of my art, I have decided to start working on adding those videos to YouTube!

I already have a YouTube channel set up (go subscribe here if you haven’t already!), which includes some of my longer videos from about a year ago (it’s wild how long I have been recording videos of my art!) I am hoping to start setting up a camera to take longer videos soon and hoping to have some of those videos up by the end of 2022! Stay tuned for more updates on that, and subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified when I post new videos! (PS, I linked my latest YouTube Short below!)

Quarterly Prints/Stickers

My next goal is to work on creating some limited edition prints and stickers every season! I want to include different art that I either make throughout the season, or art that has been popular with you guys previously! This will probably be limited edition sets of each print or sticker, which means there will only be a handful of prints and stickers each time. And these prints and/or stickers will be released at the end of each season. (So there will be one print and/or one sticker for summer, fall, winter, and spring!)

I am still in the works of figuring this out as well, but my goal is to have some sort of voting system at the beginning of each season to get an idea of what kinds of products you guys are interested in seeing! For the end of this summer, I will probably be using some artwork that I made in the past, so if you want to be part of the voting make sure to follow my Instagram here, because the voting will take place in my stories! I’ve linked my currently available prints and stickers below, so check them out if you are curious!

Challenges … Starting with the 100 Head Challenge??

The last thing I want to start working is doing more art challenges! If you follow a lot of artists on social media, you may have seen things like the 100 head challenge or MerMay, or if you followed me last year you probably saw my 30 day painting challenge! You can check out the paintings I made in my 30 day painting challenge below!

My goal with this is to create more artwork of course, but also to build my skills and challenge myself in different areas! I also want to be able to take you guys along on the process of making different types of art, so that you can watch more videos on my upcoming YouTube channel or through reels! Who knows, some of these pieces of art might even become limited edition prints and stickers for each season!

I have a couple ideas for challenges I want to try, starting with the 100 heads challenge (excited and nervous about this one!), but if you have any ideas of challenges you’d like to see me do comment them down below! I am really hoping to get out of my comfort zone with this, but also make it manageable for me to maintain during the school year! My goal is to at least get sketches down on the page each day for the challenge, and slowly paint them each week as time allows!
