Graphic Design
As a medical student, I got involved in a few extracurricular clubs, and for some of them I was the PR Chair, which meant I got to be in charge of social media and website design. This type of art and design was different from what I was used to but was a really fun and exciting challenge for me. The project that I have been most proud of is my work with the Pediatric Interest Group (PIG), where I created their social media and website from scratch. I can’t wait to share some of my work with you below! I hope to continue doing graphic design projects in the future (whether for fun or for someone else), so if you would like to work with me make sure to use the ‘Contact Me‘ page to send me a message! 🙂
Social Media Branding
The first part of my work as the PR Chair for PIG was to create an Instagram and new branding for the club’s social media presence. Because the website and social media pages are now in the hands of the next PR Chair (each year there is a new student in charge), I thought it would be easiest to share photos of my work! Below you can find the Instagram/Facebook posts that I created for various events for PIG! (Other than a couple posts that were created and shared by multiple medical school clubs, all the posts in these images were created by me!)
Also, if that is too small for you or you want a view of what some of my created posts look like in feed, I thought it would be cool to try and recreate that in a grid format below! (*** please note that the posts are not in chronological order and not all posts are included ***)
Creating the social media content for PIG was such a fun experience! It was really exciting creating a color scheme and sticking with it for the entire social media and website, to really create a cohesive feel!
Also a side note, there is one portion of the posts above that is in a different color, if you are curious about this skip ahead to the Logo Design section below!
Website
The second major portion of being the PR Chair for PIG was creating a new website design. The website I created was made on Google Sites! It was fun to apply the skills I learned from making my own website to a different project, and to match the colors and branding from the social media and website with each other. I have attached a slideshow of images from the website below. (Again, this website might be different now, so I thought it would make more sense to do it this way than to provide a link).
Logo Design
Another big part of this project, before starting the social media and website, was creating a new logo for the group (the main logo for the Pediatric Interest Group aka PIG). I also ended up creating a logo for one of the activities that the group was part of, which is the different colored posts that you can see in the feed above (Gopher Buddies). And I created a t-shirt design with a variation of the themes from the original logo for the group. I have attached some images of those below!
