Latest Updates and Newest Projects
Must Reads . NewsHello everyone! It has been quite a while since I have posted something on my website! I have still been painting and working on ideas for different projects, but things have been a bit busy with school. The main projects I have been able to complete this year are some commissions, and I have a couple more of those on the way!
I have really been enjoying doing commissions lately! Working with someone else to bring their vision to life has been really exciting, and has been a good way to experiment with different styles and color palettes. Commissions have been a good way for me to challenge myself and really work on my watercolor techniques and skills! It is also really satisfying when a finished piece comes together, after all the brainstorming, color palette making, designing, sketching, and practicing. 🙂
I wanted to share with you some of my latest commission pieces, you can check out the photos and videos linked in this post! If you follow me on Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest, you have probably already seen them! But if not, here are some photos and videos of them! If you want to see more photos and videos of the painting process, you should check out my social media! (I have linked them above, or you can click into the links for each video/photo) 🙂
Two of the commissions I worked on this year were album covers for Spates (if you haven’t listened to his music before, check him out on Spotify (click on the link to go directly to his page!) These album covers were my first attempt at doing commissions, and they are some of my favorite pieces I have created so far. I really loved working with the color palette he selected, and brainstorming with him about how he wanted each piece to look and feel.
The third commission I made this year is a small 6″x6″ painting of a pomegranate! This painting was a challenge in a different way, because of its size! Adding all the details to a small painting was tricky, but I was really happy with how it turned out! It was also a good exercise to turn something like a pomegranate into a work of art, and play around with different styles. I sketched different looks for the painting, and ended up with a more abstract looking design, which was a bit out of my comfort zone!
Overall, it was so fun to work on these projects with the customers who ordered them, and I am so excited to get started on my next 2 commissions! (One of which is another album cover for Spates! 🙂 ) So make sure you stay tuned for that! If you want the latest updates, make sure to follow me on my social media (especially Instagram!)
Thank you so much to everyone who has followed along on this journey! I have enjoyed turning my hobby into a business, and I can’t wait to see where it goes 🙂
